Finance Manager

Job Purpose: The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring sound financial management of the ECD Department, promoting efficiency, accountability and sustainable growth. The position will oversee the implementation of all aspects of financial management and supervise the Accounts staff. Key Responsibilities: Finance and Budgeting - Develop and implement appropriate budgeting methodologies. - Support managers in preparing departmental budgets and financial reports and consolidate these as required. - Liaise with the Programme Manager and other senior staff in the preparation of programme budgets. - Recommend updates to financial procedures and policies and communicate approved changes to relevant staff. - Operate and maintain ECD bank accounts in liaison with the Executive Director. - Maintain accounting books, systems and financial packages. - Manage financial reconciliations and audit requirements. - Ensure compliance with ECD accounting policies and procedures and statutory financial requirements. - Forecast cash-flow requirements. - Review bank reconciliation statements and monitor account balances. - Review financial reports prepared by Accounts Assistants. - Coordinate audit activities, accounts payable and accounts receivable. - Supervise the management of programme and project accounts. - Monitor project financial performance and expenditure against approved budgets. - Review financial and administrative processes, including payroll, bookkeeping, insurance, budgeting, cost control, personnel policies and accounting functions. - Provide financial management guidance and oversight to the Accounts team.
